At long last...

So, here is what I have been up to. I got out of the Air Force. I moved to HI (the big island). I am a SCUBA instructor for PADI. Right now I am unemployed and am looking. I will not be able to make it to my 10 year reunion this year. I sold my Burgman and now have a Suzuki Boulevard and a Honda Metropolitan. I may go back to school if I can't get a job soon. I am looking into getting lifeguard certified. There is so much to learn here in Hawaii. Things like having a rainwater catchment system instead of being on city water. Having to deal with the bugs. Things like that. I still haven't finished my kilt. I really need to get on that! Phoebe is now 5. I find it amazing how fast she is growing up. That's all I have to say about that...

A First for me....

I finally bought my first new vehicle! I got a 2007 Suzuki Burgman 400. It is a great bike. I went for a ride yesterday and it performed beautifully, even on dirt roads. I have had it about two weeks and have already put over 500 miles on it. I didn't really want to get a cruiser because I wanted something more maneuverable, but I wanted something that Lauri could ride on comfortably.

Also, Phoebe turned 4 on the 4th! I can't believe she is that old already!

A Good Read...

I just received and read a great book. An American Underwater Odyssey, 50 Dives in 50 States by Charles Ballinger. For those of you who dive, this book is a must read. So often we think of diving as something to do on vacation in the Bahamas or Hawaii. This book really makes you want to go out and dive in your own backyard. Recently I took an Advanced Open Water course here in Colorado. For our certification dives, we traveled 5 hours south to New Mexico to a small dive site called Blue Hole in Santa Rosa. It is a small hole in the ground that isn't very deep, but it was an adventure into diving not only fresh water but also my first altitude dive. I look forward to diving in Utah, Texas and Colorado if I can before I leave for Hawaii. These landlocked dive sites are something that every diver should experience.

Boy Howdy, Tell You What...

Sometimes I just wish everything would go away. This past Saturday I found a pipe in my stepdaughters room and a baggie that used to contain pot. Phoebe's healthcare is becoming a fiasco and there seems to be nothing that I can do about it. I have a lot of things that I want/need to do and there never seems to be enough money. I pay all of my bills and yet they seem to never go away. Well, at least there is always this.

Stick a fork in me...

I'm done. I am going to get out of the Air Force in '08. I just don't feel like it would benefit me to stay in. I am in the process of getting certified to teach SCUBA. Once I am out, we are going to move to Hawaii.

New Beginnings...

Well, we got a dog. She is a 3 month old, black, Scotty. Her name is Lorna Doone. I will have pictures at some point but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. I still don't have any from HI and that was a while ago. We also have new cars. Lauri got an Audi TT Quatro convertable because I got a MR2. Lots of things are changing around here. I still miss all of my friends but some spend the effort to keep in contact. Plans might be coming for a big move to CA. But that won't happen for a few years. That is all for now...

Communication Error...

It seems to me that lately I have not been in contact with anyone from my past. I have not talked to Jennifer, Joel, Adam, Adina, Paul, Jimmy or Murray forever. I miss having conversations. I miss sitting outside and discusing Philosiphy or talking about the future. I am really looking forward to my reunion so that I can see my friends again. Even if it is just to kick them sqaw and ask why they didn't ever at least send me an email. I mean, it's not like my email has changed since highschool. I know I need to post some more pics. Give me time.
